North American Savings Bank (NASB) Hooks Up Kansas City Residents for Valentine’s Day with 175 Free Meals from Historic M and M Bakery and Deli

Kansas City, MO.,(Feb.7, 2022)

NASB, in partnership with historic M&M Bakery and Deli, will offer a sweet treat to 175 Kansas City residents this month to celebrate Valentine’s Day. The first 175 patrons to visit the family-owned deli on February 11, 2022 will enjoy a free NASB Hook ‘Em Up meal that includes a full-sized famous Hook ‘Em Up sandwich, a bag of chips, and a giant, baked cinnamon roll for dessert.

“Valentine’s Day is about sharing the love, and what says “I love you” more than supporting an iconic small business that is part of Kansas City’s history?” said Jenn Cantrell, NASB’s communications manager. “We work with many amazing community partners off 31st street-Ivanhoe Neighborhood Council, Metro Lutheran Ministry, and True Light Family Resource Center. Like those nonprofits, M&M Bakery plays a vital role in helping the Ivanhoe neighborhood grow and thrive. Running a successful, small business is always difficult, and the pandemic increased those pressures.  We want to show our love, support, and respect for small business owners like Pat-they are the heart and soul of our city,” said Cantrell.

M&M Deli has been a beloved deli in the Ivanhoe neighborhood since the 50s when it was owned by Holocaust survivor Bronia Roslawoski and her husband Mendal. Current owners Pat and Dorothy Williams bought the bakery in 1985 and now run the store with their children. Despite many economic ups and downs over the years, including staffing shortages because of the pandemic, Pat and his wife have managed to keep the bakery open and maintain their contagious enthusiasm and warmth that they are well known for by their patrons.

“We are so appreciative of the support we’ve had from our community before and during Covid,” said Pat Williams. “It’s our pleasure to be in this neighborhood, and we are thankful for businesses like NASB that help us to share that love on a larger scale,” said Williams.

As a small business owner, Williams worked with NASB back in the early 00s to secure a home loan with NASB through their bank statement loan program, which allows small business owners and self-employed individuals to use bank statements in lieu of W2s to demonstrate income.

We invite you to visit M&M Bakery and Deli February 11 to enjoy a free NASB Hook ‘Em Up meal deal as NASB’s way of supporting small community businesses like Pat’s. Quantities are limited to the first 175 orders. Because M&M is a small business and runs on a small staff, there will be no substitutions and no rain checks. Offer is limited to one deal per person, and you must be present to get the deal (no deliveries).
