“In late April/ early May, my wife and I had a house under contract. Our real estate broker cautioned us that banks were requiring more documentation and due to the problems with the economy, it was extremely difficult to get a mortgage. I started shopping for a mortgage with local banks and mortgage brokers in the Charlotte, NC.
