“June 2014, the housing market in Dallas, TX is exploding and offers on houses are happening as you are standing inside the house.  My house sold for top dollar in three days leaving me stuck with having to find and close on a house ASAP.  I made an offer on a house I had been interested in but had a contingency contract already on it.  I needed a firm confirmation to the seller that I could finance the house with no strings (contingency) attached to trump the current contract.  Two other buyers were doing the same thing.  I contacted two referred lenders, which were too busy to assist me on the immediacy of the situation.  So, I went to Lending Tree, knowing that I would get bombarded with calls, I had nowhere else to go.  (NOTE:  My two banks offered very high rates b based upon the marked unless I spent thousands buying points.)  Well, within seconds (literally) after I hit enter my phone rang.  Michael LaMont introduced himself.  Within minutes he began explaining the “dreaded” VA loan for which I qualified.  Now, after 30 years and multiple mortgages, everyone from realtors to loan companies had talked me out of the dreaded VA loan.  “It takes forever.” “There are no benefits to it.”, “Sellers don’t like them”, etc. everything contrary to what the VA loan sells itself to being of value.  Well, bottom line, Mr. LaMont, not only got me through the VA loan process, he saved me thousands of dollars in the process, assured the nervous sellers that the process was not going to impact them, and kept me informed and was responsive throughout the entire process.We made the closing date, even with uncontrollable issues, and I got an unbelievable mortgage rate.Thank you North American Savings Bank and special props to Mr. Michael LaMont.Sincerely and with great pleasure I write this commentary on Mr. LaMont and your bank.”
